¡Glaciares!

After his business trip to Anchorage, Miryam joined Tobias for a weekend in the Last Frontier. Things got off to a good start with a crystal clear view from the top of the Marriott at breakfast, allowing for an amazing view of Denali (enlace en español) and other nearby peaks. Apparently the view from Anchorage is only possible a few times per year. At 20,000ft Denali made the other nearby 14,000ft peaks look small!

After breakfast the car was pointed southward where the main attraction was the drive itself - it was continuously breathtaking, if that's possible. At one point Tobias steered off the road to see a bald eagle up close although, after landing, it just sat and sat. T&M stopped at the Portage Glacier for lunch at an alpine lake with a wondrous vista...and had an amazing conversation with the gift shop dueña who explained that Alaska was more spiritual "because people here look up". What a perfect explanation given the surroundings!
