We celebrated the Fourth of July at home this year. As the weather was superb, we took advantage of the long weekend for another hike in Discovery Park where we saw an unusually low tide as well as crystal-clear views of The Mountain (enlace en español). Afterwards we stopped by to see our friends Rick and Michela for a barbecue and some of their favorite treats from the Old World, smores. In the evening we sat on our porch and watched the fireworks show on Lake Union, ooohs and aahhs flowing freely with every burst. This year there were smiley faces, hearts, and a few other interesting fireworks.
