Our penultimate stop was
Rincon (
enlace en español) in the far west of Puerto Rico. This area is a surfer's haven, where currents from the Atlantic and Caribbean create enormous waves. Rick found us
a great spot to watch the waves crashing in as the sun set, it was truly awe-inspiring! Rincon was possibly the only place that we'd visited where English beat out Spanish, the place was just crawling with gringos! We stayed at the quaint
Lazy Parrot which had been recommended by a colleague of Tobias' who used to live in PR...unfortunately the namesake bird "Chili" had been banished from the hotel by the local authorities.
