Along with his parents, Tobias drove across the Bay Bridge to the remembrance for
Ted Stanley, an uncle and, along with his wife Jenny, a family friend. Ted's mother and Tobias' grandmother were cousins and remained in close touch for years. Both were Hasslachers, British but from an originally German family. The day included boat rides, music,
ice cream, a slideshow, and lots of laughs. It was Ted who bought Tobias his first compact set of binoculars that allowed his planespotting to blossom...except that he suggested that they might have other spotting uses too. Good man! The photos show Tobias with Jenny and his parents as well as Tobias with Ted's brother Tom.
