Miryam had a really nasty one-bike accident which put her in the emergency room. Luckily a car driving by stopped, the driver took us to the hospital while the passenger secured our bikes. They then brought back the keys to our bikes - super kind and very Seattle-like. In any case we're still waiting for the final verdict on Miryam's very hurt right knee (the one that has always given her trouble) but for know it's up and iced most of the time. The left ankle is badly sprained but hopefully will recover after a couple of weeks. Interestingly, there were no scrapes and no blood at all as a result of the accident, she landed on her butt with the bike falling more or less on top of her. In any case all thoughts and well-wishes are gratefully accepted!!!
Also, with ice production at home very much ramped up, we wanted to highlight a phenomenon we've seen several times now - stalactites of ice growing up at an angle from the ice tray. Has any one ever seen this before?!!!
