Primera Comunion

The main driver for our visit to Spain was for the First Communion of Miryam's niece and nephew. This was definitely a highlight of the trip as we were able to attend the First Communion itself (at Parroquia de San Pedro Apóstol), then a beautiful lunch in Talamanca in the countryside that's still within the Province of Madrid, then an after party that kept us all up well into the night. These events are a big deal in Spain, complete with special outfits and an investment to rival a wedding. It was a great way to cap off the trip and the youngsters played along, staying up late with the adults. One of the photos shows us with Ángel y Alejandra, another shows Miryam with her brother, and the last shows us with Carmen (Miryam's sister-in-law) and her two kids. Note that our friend Rick was in the photo as well, he had come to Spain to enjoy some time in the north as well as some time with Miryam's family in/around Madrid.
