Victoria

We took Miryam's parents to the beautiful town of Victoria to show them a small slice of Canada and to do some looking around ourselves.  We saw Butchart Gardens (very nice, well worth the time and money), saw the amazing Treasures exhibit touring the world from the British Museum, had high tea at the Empress Hotel (a ripoff for the C$55 price but a nice venue), took a harbor cruise where we saw floatplanes landing up close, enjoyed an unexpected lightning show including a post-sunset rainbow that spanned the horizon from end to end, enjoyed some history at Craigdarroch Castle, and took the ferry both ways (with great views of the San Juan Islands).  All in all it was a great trip.

There are some really NICE small local places to high high tea if you don't want to go to the Empress! Next time you are in Victoria - I think we asked around and found out that way - value for $$$
